The Meaning of Marker?

A marker is a piece of paper with all the patterns pieces in any size and type of clothing. It is created before cutting and is designed to limit waste. The measurement of the width of the Marker is equal to the width of the fabric and must not exceed the width of the material. i.e. fabric width is greater or equal to the width of the Marker. The pattern pieces need to be placed with care to minimize the amount of waste. Different methods are employed in marker making to reduce the amount of garbage.


Possibilities, Methods and Methods of Marker Making

There are generally two ways that a marker could be created.


Manual Method

The person performs the procedure with his hands if it is a traditional method that takes longer.


  • Full-size Marker used for production purposes.

  • Miniature Type Marker: A miniature type marker is sometimes created and used to plan or schedule, study, or learn, i.e. for learning and planning purposes.


Computerized Method

This is the most efficient method because it provides higher marker performance. The sizes of the patterns, pieces of the pattern, the grade rule, and screening are sent to the computer and then stored in the memory that creates the automatic maker. This technique is typically part of an integrated system that includes:


  • Digitalizing System: With this type of system, the work patterns are put on the digitizing table or board and following the size of the pattern.

  • Scanning system: A scanner is one kind of machine similar to a copier. The patterns are glued to the scanner's glass, and the Marker is then made to an appropriate size.


Different types of computerized methods

There are two kinds of computerized techniques:


  • Automated marker making is the process of calling up information that defines the location of pieces in markers previously designed and then selecting from a set.

  • Interactive marker making is a standard procedure in that the person in charge plans the Marker using direct interaction with the system via the computer's screen. All patterns are shown in miniature on high-up on the net.


Advantages of computerized methods over manual methods

  • The Marker's efficiency is much higher than the manual technique's marker efficiency.
